«It is an honor to serve on a Board»

Roto Frank America’s President & CEO, Chris Dimou, has been elected to the Connecticut Invention Convention (CIC) Board of Directors.  CIC is an award winning, internationally recognized, 501(c)(3) educational organization that is designed to develop, encourage, and enhance creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills through invention, innovation and entrepreneurship. Their annual convention gives students and parents an introduction to careers in engineering with exhibits staffed by UConn’s students and professors which showcase engineering subjects, including civil, mechanical and chemical engineering – helping students discover engineering and science as real possible careers, definitely within reach.

An estimated 300,000 K-8 children have experienced CIC invention programs. Annually the CIC serves more than 17,000 students in grades K-8 across Connecticut from over 250 participating Connecticut schools.  Up to 700 of those student inventors are selected to join the annual state convention, held at the University of Connecticut.

“It is an honor to serve on a Board that is helping to develop the upcoming generation by providing opportunities to explore their interests and talents.  CIC is likely to have a direct impact on the gap in skilled labor being experienced in industries that rely on engineering and related technologies, and I am pleased to be a part this kind of initiative.” said Dimou.
